Simple analytic formula for the hadronic contribution to the photonic vacuum polarization

Description
Knowledge of the hadronic contribution to the photonic vacuum polarization is required for calculating radiative corrections in electroweak theory. A simple model is proposed that reproduces the value α-bar≡α(m2Z) obtained by integrating experimental data on the transition σe+e-→hadrons. High-accuracy measurement of the muon magnetic moment would refine the parameters of our model in the energy range 1 GeV<E<2 GeV, which is crucial for reducing errors in α-bar
