p-nucleus elastic scattering using modified Glauber theory
Description
The leading corrections to the Glauber approximation are examined by analysing the elastic angular distribution and polarization of approx. 1GeV protons on 12C and 40Ca nuclei. It is shown that the net effect of these corrections is small and hence the uncorrected theory should be quite reliable for determining the microscopic details of target nuclei. (author)
