Salleri Chialsa project
Description
This article describes the construction of a small hydroelectric plant at Salleri Chialsa in Nepal to supply electricity to the Chialsa Craft Centre. The setting up and operation of the Salleri Electricity Utilisation Project (SELUP) and the registration of the Salleri Chialsa Electricity (shareholder) Company Ltd (SCECO) are detailed. The annual company budget, management, operation, structure of load and consumption, SCECO tariff and connection policy, meter calibration, pilferage, and community participation are discussed. (UK)
