Continuously concentrating and denitrating device by microwaves

Description

Purpose: To enable procession for plutonium nitrate and uranyl nitrate or the mixed solution thereof continuously from the evaporating concentration to the denitration. Constitution: A denitration vessel of a structure having rotating cylindrical vessel main body partitioned into a plurality of sections is disposed in an oven which is plased to the inside of a glove box or the like and applied with microwaves. Liquid products such as plutonium nitrate in the denitration vessel are condensated through evaporation and denitrated separately in each of the divisions defined by the partition plate and rotated to a position corresponding to a denitrated powder reception tray. Further, by the application of the microwaves, the denitration step is completed and the denitrated powder is transferred to a reception tray. In the next step, liquid products to be processed are injected again and the foregoing step is repeated. (Kawakami, Y.)
