Description

To specify the nature of active centres and to acquire information on the ways of intensification of radiation polymerization of epichlorohydrin (ECH) at 295 K, additions of different nature, which are radical acceptors (nitrobenzene, benzoquinone) or charged particles (chlorobenzene, methylene chloride, dichloroethane, diethyl amine, α-nepthylamine, pyridine) and initiators of ionic polymerization (ferrocene and onium salts) were used. γ-irradiation is realized in the dose range 0.01-0.5 MGy at the dose rate 20-36 Gy/s. It is established that the yield of polyepichlorohydrin practically does not depend on the presence of acceptors of radical electrons and protons. However, molecular mass of the polymer formed in the presence of electron and radical acceptors increases. A considerable effect on the polymer yield is made only by ferrocene and onium salts in the case of their separate presence. Mechanism of polymerization process is presented
