Solar flare activity and the changes of proton fluxes in the distant heliosphere

Description
In an interval of 3 years, proton fluxes occurred at the time of enhanced solar activity, which is expressed in terms of the number of flares. The proton fluxes were attenuated at distances of 12 to 19 AU, especially between Aug. 1983 and Feb. 1984, at a time when solar flare and coronal radio activity was very low; it was at this time that a plasma emission on ∼ 3 kHz, probably originating after Lanzerotti et al. from the turbulent plasma medium of distant heliopausa, was indicated. The results may also prove important for forecasting long-lasting fluctuations of proton fluxes at distances of 10 to 20 AU in the heliosphere. (author). 1 fig., 2 refs
