Thermodynamic functions and stability constants of rare earths with monothiodibenzoylmethane

  • 1. M.A. College of Technology, Bhopal (India)

Description

The stability constants (log K) of the complexes formed between Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy and Ho and monothiodibenzoylmethane (HSDBM) have been determined pH metrically at temperatures 30, 35 and 400C at constant 0.05 M NaClO4 ionic strength. The effect of variation of ionic strength was studied by taking three ionic strengths at 300C. The thermodynamic stability constants were determined by extrapolating log K vs μ plot at μ= 0. The other thermodynamic functions were calculated from temperature stability constant plot. The values were refined by least square method. (author)
