Application of the Monte Carlo method for simulation of neutron transport in a weakly absorbing medium

Description

Two algorithms intended for simulaion of neutron transport in a homogeneous infinite medium or combination of media one of which is external, homogeneous and infinite. It is shown that by means of the Monte Carlo method in a homogeneous infinite medium possible is simple and precise simulation of the result of one-speed transport and that for weakly absorbing external media realizable and sufficiently precise are algorithms on the base of diffusion macrosteps not only on tangent spheres but also on tangent half spaces. The boundary separating the external medium can be either (not necessarily cylindrical)
