Effect of environment on the transport of charge in ionic liquids from radio-tracer studies

  • 1. Saha Inst. of Nuclear Physics, Calcutta (India)

Description

The present work reports the rate of transport ,diffusion, of cesium ion in aqueous solutions of all the alkali metal chlorides at 25 deg C temperature. The diffusion rates have been measured by then sliding cell technique using the 134Cs as tracer, over the concentration 4.0M. These diffusion data coupled with the other transport data in the literature can give a quantitative estimate of the influence of its environment both local and global on the transport of cation cesium. In pursuance of that goal, velocity cross correlation coefficients have been calculated, which actually represents the ensemble average time integrals of the velocity correlation functions.
