Tests of electroweak processes with the HRS at PEP
Description
Bhabha scattering and muon pair data from the first five month running cycle of the HRS at PEP are presented. Values for the weak couplings and QED cutoff parameters are extracted from the data which is based on an integrated luminosity of 19.6 pb-1 at a center of mass energy of 29 GeV. The measured muon pair forward backward charge asymmetry is 0.084 +/- 0.035. Electroweak theory and the Monte Carlo techniques that permit a comparison of theory and data are discussed. Details of the design and operation of the detector are presented with particular emphasis on the inner drift chamber system
