Description

In the present work, the Sr2Fe2O5 ferrite was obtained by the high energy milling technique using a milling power of 4:1 under different times (1, 5 and 10h). The product was calcined, grounded for the particles size reduction and sintered at temperatures of 1100, 1200 and 1300 deg C. Further, x-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy experiments were carried out in order to identify the phases and analyze the particles morphology, respectively. DC electrical conductivity measurements indicated that the strontium ferrite behaves as a semiconductor. At low temperatures, the bands conduction mechanism predominated; while the load carrier mobility diminished at high temperatures. The electrical conductivity of the strontium ferrite samples changed from 15.2 to 85(Ωcm)-1, and its resistivity assumed values between 0.012 to 0.066(Ωcm). (author)
