Fundamental study on measuring void fraction in transient boiling channel flow
Description
By using high-frequency induction heating, experiments have been carried out for measuring transient void behaviors in a boiling channel simulating a reactor core during a reactivity-initiated accident. A small-sized loop with a vertical annular test section has been used in which R-113 circulates under various subcooling conditions. As a result, outlet void fractions are affected remarkably by subcooling temperatures and flow velocities of liquid at the inlet of the test section. (author)
