Description
The calorimeter which is being designed by the Solenoidal Detector Collaboration (SDC) is described. First, the requirements for the SDC calorimeter are reviewed, then the sampling calorimetry using the tile/fiber technique is presented. Finally, the options for the forward calorimetry are presented, and the questions of radiation damage and calibration are addressed. (orig.)
