The effect of cyclic deformation and heat treatment on the critical current density in monofilamentary Nb-44.5 Ti wires

  • 1. Akademia Gorniczo-Hutnicza, Krakow (Poland). Inst. for Metals Working and Physical Metallurgy

Description

Data of a single-filament Nb-44.5 Ti superconductor subjected to cyclic deformation by means of reversible torsion are presented. A strong-correlation was observed between the critical current density and the number of deformation cycles realized during the thermo-mechanical treatment. The highest critical current density obtained in the present investigation was 694 A/mm2. This value corresponds to a deformation of the material by 450 to 650 cycles at an amplitude of ± 1.5%. Abstract (German)

Die hoechste kritische Stomdichte betrug 694 A/mm2. (orig.)
