Effect of an external hf field on drift excitation of Alfven waves by trapped electrons in a tokamak plasma
Creators
Description
It is shown that when the number of resonant particles is sufficiently large (the wave phase velocity is sufficiently small) the contribution of quasilinear diffusion induced by the external hf field to the growth rate of the Alfven trapped-electron instability can exceed the contribution associated with Coulomb collisions. 11 refs
