Modified Binary-Encounter-Bethe Model for Electron Impact Ionization Cross Sections of Highly Charged Ions

  • 1. Laboratório de Instrumentação, Engenharia Biomédica e Física da Radiação (LIBPhys-UNL), Departamento de Física, Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, FCT, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, 2829-516 Caparica (Portugal)

Description

The modified binary-encounter-Bethe model has been used in the calculation of direct ionization cross sections of ions with several charge states [1], going all the way to hydrogen-like Uranium [2]. In this work we present electron impact cross section values for hydrogen-like Mo, Dy, Au and Bi. (paper)
