The article deals with the question from the perspective of a radiation protection specialist who has been active for over 30 years in the design and construction of large-scale industrial systems, most of them nuclear power plants. He was responsible for radiation protection engineering and the relevant safety design aspects of such large systems, and discusses the question primarily from the angle of his profession. (orig./CB)
Abstract (German)
In diesem Beitrag soll die in der Ueberschrift gestellte Frage aus der Sicht eines Strahlenschuetzers beantwortet werden, der mehr als 30 Jahre mit der Planung grosstechnischer Anlagen - hauptsaechlich Kernkraftwerken - betraut war. Insofern wird nicht der Strahlenschutz allgemein, sondern speziell der Strahlenschutz bei grosstechnischen Anlagen behandelt. Und noch weiter: Es wird hauptsaechlich der vorausplanende Strahlenschutz behandelt, in dem das Anlagenkonzept und seine bauliche Realisierung festgelegt werden. (orig.)Additional details
