Thyroid cancer in children and adolescents of Belarus irradiated as a result of Chernobyl accident: status and prediction

Description
Thyroid cancer incidence in the human population of Belarus irradiated in childhood for the period passed after the Chernobyl accident is analysed and potential perspectives for development of disease incidence in exposed population during life span. Thyroid cancer cases in children and adolescents of Belarus irradiated due to the Chernobyl accident are predicted using the additive model with modified parameters. Predicted values are shown to be in good agreement with the actual data on thyroid cancer cases in children aged 0-6

Анализируется заболеваемость раком щитовидной железы (ЩЖ) облученного в детском возрасте населения Беларуси за прошедший после Чернобыльской аварии период и обсуждены возможные перспективы развития заболеваемости облученной популяции на протяжении жизни. Дан прогноз развития случаев рака ЩЖ у детей и подростков Беларуси, облученных в результате Чернобыльской аварии, с использованием аддитивной модели с модифицированными параметрами. Показано хорошее согласие между наблюдаемым и предсказанным по модели числом случаев рака ЩЖ детей, облученных в возрасте 0-6 летAdditional details
