Description
The structure functions of hadrons in deep inelastic scattering are calculated in the framework of the single-time formulation of QFT. The initial hadron is considered as a set of bound states of the various numbers of quarks (partons) and the structure functions are expressed through the relativistic wave functions of these bound states. A new scaling variable, taking into account the target mass effect, is introduced and the new scaling properties of the structure functions in the deep inelastic region as well as their behaviour at the exclusive threshold are investigated.
