A new approach to geometry modelling and visualisation for MONK and MCBEND

  • 1. AEA Reactor Services, Dorchester (United Kingdom). Winfrith Technology Centre
  • 2. British Nuclear Fuels plc, Chesire (United Kingdom)

Description

A new geometry modelling scheme has been developed called Fractal Geometry that integrated the key capabilities of the two independent schemes of MONK and MCBEND Monte Carlo particle transport codes within a single modelling environment. To accompany the new modelling package, interactive geometric visualisation software packages have been developed called VISAGE and VISTA which offer two- and three-dimensional solid body and wire frame components. The creation of the Fractal Geometry package and the associated visualisation software that is now available are described. (K.A.)
