A weir model to relate the liquid flow rate with the water level in an inverted U-bend

  • 1. Maryland Univ., College Park (USA). Dept. of Chemical and Nuclear Engineering

Description

A 'weir model' was developed to relate the liquid flow rate with the water level in an inverted U-bend. Results appear to be in agreement with the analytical model, so long as a correcting coefficient can be determined from one experimental data point for a given U-bend geometry. The model is found to be applicable to both liquid flow and bubbly flow. (orig.)
