Comparison of aberration yields induced by different radiators in somatic and germ cells

Description
Objective: To compare the aberration yields induced by β radiator 147Pm and γ radiator 134Cs in somatic and germ cells. Methods: The changes of aberration yields induced by different radiators were determined using chromosomal aberration assay in both bone marrow cells and spermatogonia. Comparison of aberration yields induced by different radiators with the same radioactivity at different time intervals was carried out. Results: It was demonstrated that most of chromosomal aberrations in bone marrow cells and spermatogonia were similar in chromatid type. But the aberration yields induced by 147Pm and 134Cs in bone marrow cells were significantly higher than those in spermatogonia. Aberration yields in bone marrow cells after different time intervals induced by 147Pm were 2.8-5.6 times higher than those in spermatogonia; While by 134Cs they were 1.2-2.6 times. Conclusion: The results suggest that the aberration yields induced by different radiators 147Pm and 134Cs in bone marrow cells are significantly higher than those in spermatogonia
