Investigation of the single-phonon absorption band at 230 cm-1 in silicon irradiated by neutrons
Description
A study of a vibrational absorption band at 230 cm-1 in neutron irradiated silicon is presented. The influence of axial stress on the samples is investigated. Annealing experiments of the absorption band at 230 cm-1 are performed in the range of 100 to 700 0C. All experimental results allow to conclude that the IR absorption band at 230 cm-1 is connected with lattice structure damages (induction of dipoles) and that the absorption arises by transverse acoustic phonons near the critical point of the Brillouin zone
