Description

A theoretical investigation of the effect of phonon transfer on the resonance line shape for the capture of a neutron by an atom bound in a lattice is presented. We start with Lamb's formula for the transition probability and derive the expression for the line shape when the phonon occupation numbers of the lattice are taken into account. (author)
