Determination of uranium by instrumental activation analysis in a biogeochemical survey of regions with metal occurrence

Description
A method of uranium determination in plant samples using instrumental activation analysis was worked out. The samples were irradiated with epithermal neutrons in a reactor. The γ-radiation (energy 74.7 keV) of 239U formed by irradiation was measured. The accuracy of the analysis expressed as the standard deviation was within 2 to 8% for the concentration range of 0.5 to 30 p.p.m. (author)
