Neutron star models

Description

The current state of neutron star structure calculations is reviewed. Uncertainties in the equation of state for matter at and above nuclear density remain. The role of the delta resonance, pion condensates, and quark matter is reviewed. Despite uncertainties, it is found that recent models yield stable neutron star masses which are consistent with observational estimates. (Auth.)
