Fuel assembly
Description
Purpose: To reduce the fissile material content at the corner part of a fuel assembly, thereby attempting to perform the uniform burnup of fuel and simplification of the driving operation and preventing occurrence of an one side burning phenomenon. Constitution: The ratio of a fissile material contained in at least three fuel rods of the adjacent corner part at the central part of the control rod is made less than 65% of the average contained ratio per the full fuel rod of the fuel assembly, whereby the power rise of the fuel rods in the vicinities of control rods and the rise of the local peaking coefficient are suppressed, the fuel is uniformly burnt at the time of extracting the control rods during the operation of the reactor, the fuel is uniformly burnt and bad influences over the fuel cladding tube due to one side burnup are prevented to attempt to simplify the operational procedure.
