Mathematical model of metallofullerene formation in plasma arc reactor Ion beam induced mixing in Ta/Si bilayers

  • 1. The VINCA Institute of Nuclear Sciences, P. 0. Box 522, 11001 Belgrade (Yugoslavia)

Description

In this work, it is developed s kinetic model that describes the chemical reactions that occur during synthesis of fullerenes and metallo fullerenes. Since the results of the model of fullerene formation match the experimental results, and the results of the model of metallo fullerene formation do not quite match them, it follows that the model should be modified. Either attachment collisions of metal and carbon are low efficient or/and metallo carbon clusters show great tendency toward spontaneous fragmentation. Let us conclude that the optimum initial composition of electrodes required for metallo fullerene synthesis was found. (author)
