Study of stereotactic radiosurgery using a linear accelerator
- 1. Kyushu Univ., Fukuoka (Japan). Faculty of Medicine
Description
A new method was developed for using the off-center-beam in stereotactic radiosurgery, using the center-over function of an asymmetrical multi-leaf collimator of a linear accelerator which allows the off-center-beam available for rotation therapy. First, following experiments of off-center-beam, percent depth dose, beam flatness and dose profile under gantry rotation. The test results proved that off-center-beam had excellent availability.
