Introduction to the 2017 IWAAP: progress and perspectives

  • 1. Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, California (United States)

Description

During 2017 we have continued to see tremendous progress in the field of Applied Antineutrino Physics. The first detection of Coherent Neutrino-Nucleus Scattering at an accelerator source sets the stage for the multiple efforts underway at reactors. The new generation of short baseline oscillation experiments are coming online, reporting data from challenging environments close to reactor cores. The broader neutrino physics community eagerly awaits results that will shed light on the reactor flux and spectrum anomalies. In this talk, we will review the history of the workshop series and the highlights we can expect during the 2017 edition. (author)
