Effects of neutron-gamma or gamma irradiations on plasma clotting factors. Effect of a treatment by substituted factors

Description
Neutron-gamma irradiation of the baboon at lethal dose altered the plasma clotting factors and induced a fibrinoformation alteration which occurred shortly before death. These disturbances, which were not found after gamma irradiation, could explain the importance of the haemorrhagic syndrome. Treatment by P.P.S.B. (factors II, VII, X and IX) counteracted the alterations of the plasma clotting factors, but had no influence on the lethality nor on the fibrinoformation alteration which seems to be an important cause of death

L'irradiation neutron-gamma a dose letale a entraine chez le babouin une hypocoagulabilite par alteration des facteurs plasmatiques de coagulation, ainsi qu'une anomalie de la fibrino-formation qui apparait peu avant la mort. Ces perturbations, qui n'ont pas ete observees apres l'irradiation gamma, peuvent expliquer l'importance du syndrome hemorragique. Le traitement par le P.P.S.B. (facteurs II, VII, X et IX) a corrige l'alteration des facteurs plasmatiques de coagulation mais n'a pas influence la letalite ni l'anomalie de la fibrinoformation qui semble une cause importante de decesAdditional details
