Description

By means of interaction of monoethanolammonium nonachlorodimolybdate (3) with 4,4'-dipyridyl (Dipy) in hydrochloric acid solution dimeric and monomeric molybdenum (3) chlorocomplexes have been prepared. In dimeric complexes Mo2Cl93--anion is preserved, whereas monomeric ones contain coordinated 4,4'-dipyridyl. The compounds synthesized are characterized by the element analysis, methods of IR and electron spectroscopy, thermogravimetry, X-ray phase analysis, measurement of magnetic susceptibility in the temperature range 80-360 K. Exchange integrals of dimers (for (Dipy H2) (mea H) [Mo2Cl9] and (Dipy H2)2x[Mo2Cl9]Cl-2J=810 and 740 cm-1 respectively, where mea - monoethanolamine) are calculated. Thermal analysis points to the possibility of the Anderson regrouping in the process of the complexes thermal decomposition
