Waste management strategic plan

Description

The goal of the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant (PORTS) Waste Management Program is to manage wastes in a manner which is protective of human health and the environment; meets all regulatory requirements and Department of Energy (DOE) Orders; allows production and production support activities to operate without significant impact; minimizes waste generation and disposal to the greatest extent practicable; is cost efficient, and exceeds expectations of DOE and Martin Marietta Energy Systems, Inc. (MMES) management. Consistent with this goal by the year 2002 PORTS will have fully implemented an integrated waste management strategy in which there is not waste in long-term storage
