Hydride reorientation model for spent fuel claddings in dry storage conditions
Creators
- 1. JSC "SRC RF TRINITI", Moscow, Troitsk (Russian Federation)
Description
The article is concerned with the further development of hydride reorientation model which is carried out in SRC "TRINITI", Russia. The advanced model takes into account the hydride memory effect (after complete or partial hydride dissolution), the effect of temperature cycling and allows estimate the hydrogen redistribution over the rod height under temperature gradients. The current model version can be used during safety justification of the Russian spent nuclear fuel long-term dry storage. Keywords: dry storage, zirconium hydrides, hydride reorientation.
