Description
A new test is proposed for the search of states with Δ-isobar in 3He and 4He. The test is based on the fact that the spectator isobar generally must have tensor polarization. It is shown that for the expected dominant D-states of Δ-isobar in 3He and 4He its tensor polarization achieves the maximum possible value. It leads to the angular anisotropy of the form (1+3z2) where z is the cosine of the angle between the pion direction in the isobar system and the isobar direction in the laboratory system. The effects of possible contribution for S and P states is also discussed
