Comparison of TORT and THREEDANT on realistic X-Y-Z shielding problems

Description

Three-dimensional discrete ordinates neutronics calculations are becoming practical. This paper will compare TORT and THREEDANT on some typical neutron/gamma shielding problems. This comparison is preliminary since both codes are still evolving. Comparisons were carried out on a Los Alamos CRAY-YMP supercomputer, though both codes can run on smaller computers. Version 1.3.5 of TORT and the current developmental versions of THREEDANT were used
