Assessment of certain minor and trace elements in skin of normal egyptians
Creators
Description
X-ray fluorescence technique has been used for scanning skin samples of normal egyptians for their element contents whereas selected elements were subsequently quantitated using atomic absorption spectrophotometric technique. In this study Mg, Ca, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, Pb, and Cd contents have been investigated. Thirty five samples were analysied the mean values of these elements were found to be: 258.272 + or - 111.306, 280.969 + or -148.002, 8.512 + or - 4.751, 183.621 + or - 70.638, 27.504 + or - 15.487, 13.042 + or - 5.310, 42.521 + or - 13.677, 89.357 + or - 44.223, and 10.020 + or - 5.034 tissue respectively. The results of the present study could be considered for any further investigations trying to correlate skin diseases under the local environmental conditions with changes in skin element contents
