Physical mechanical properties of polyethylene pigmented by nano-TiO2

Description
The physico-mechanical properties of a composite material containing the high pressure polyethylene (HPPE) and additions of nano-titanium dioxide (70 mm) have been determined. It has been ascertained that with increasing of the nano-pigment content from 1 to 5 wt. percent the ultimate tensile strength, modulus of elongation and flow-behavior index of the HPPE composite are decreased. The decreasing of physico-chemical indexes is ascribed to destructive influence of the nano-pigment. The overdosage of nano-TiO2 above 1 wt. percent is not recommended at HPPE composite preparation
