Coupled absorbing filters technique in beta backscattering express-analysis of elements with medium atomic numbers in ore concentrates

  • 1. AN SSSR, Novosibirsk. Inst. Geologii i Geofiziki

Description

Using beta backscattering method and coupled absorbing filters technique, the antimony contents in mercury-antimony concentrates at one of the enrichment plants were determined. The measurements excluded the effects of the elements changing the effective atomic number of rocks and the mercury effect as well. The absolute divergency between chemical analysis and beta backscattering method, judging from the analysis of more than 200 samples, proved equal +-0.52% Sb, the absolute error - +-1.49%. The advantage of the method suggested is its rapidity
