Nuclear energy programmes in OECD/NEA countries

Description

This document is a presentation of the nuclear energy programmes of the 15 OECD/NEA member countries (Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and United States) in the form of 15 independent plaquettes. Each plaquette comprises: an historical overview of the general energy policy of the country, and of nuclear energy policy in particular; a catalog of nuclear facilities (fuel fabrication and reprocessing plants, power plants, waste storage and disposal facilities); an organisational chart of the bodies (operators and public authorities) involved in the nuclear program; the organization of inspection and safety works in nuclear facilities; the research programmes and collaborations in nuclear science and waste processing and disposal; the inventory of radioactive waste and their management (conditioning and site selection); and the decommissioning strategy of obsolete facilities.
