Nuclear education and training in the Dominican Republic

The objective is to show our development through time, the current state and the national strategy of education, training and training on knowledge and management of nuclear energy and its Applications. The Dominican Republic today has little knowledge about nuclear technology and its different applications, but short, medium, and long term objectives have been established, which they will be fulfilled by the competent authorities of the diffusion in the country. In this document you will seek to recognize the current situation of the country in the aspects mentioned above, with the purpose of knowing the real context, which will lead us through a clearer path for making decisions by the corresponding authorities. For this, a pilot plan has been prepared in hospitals nationals where basic courses of radiation protection are given to the staff, and in this way said staff begins to have a clearer concept of radiological risk when working with ionizing radiation and because it is necessary to have a good safety culture in an installation and allows us to gradually increase the human resources trained so that you can spread. Within the national plan conferences in the different universities, with the theme of ―Application of Nuclear Technology‖ aimed at students of the different courses taught, professors and authorities of the same institution, where all the use to which it is applied will be explained and detailed currently to nuclear technology, indicating what is currently in the country.
