Thermonuclear device
Description
Purpose: To prevent tritium produced in the reactor core from leaking externally by applying plating layers made of metal of typical element or of transition element to the inner walls of pipeways for tritium recovery system, gas cooling system and vapor system such as of vapor generator. Constitution: Plating layers comprising a metal of typical element such as aluminum or a metal of transition element such as copper, silver or zinc whose d orbit is filled with electrons are applied to the inner walls of pipeways for constituting tritium recovery system, gas cooling system and vapor system. Since tritium does not dissociated into tritium ions on the surface of the plating layers, diffusion and permeation of the tritium to the inside of the pipeway walls can be prevented. (Moriyama, K.)
