Measurement and control systems on the basis of IBM PC and multifunction boards

Description

Measurement and control systems on the basis of the IBM PC can be useful in signal analysis, data logging, temperature measurements, DC voltage measurements and for process control, analog function generation, etc. The systems consist of the multifunction board with the IBM PC and software. The multifunction analog and digital cards for the IBM PC contain a 12-bit Analog-to-Digital converter with eight or sixteen single-ended analog inputs, 10-, 12-bit Digital-to-Analog converters with voltage outputs, eight lines of TTL digital input and output. The maximum single-channel sampling rate for an analog input is 120-200 kHx. The ranges of measured analog signals are ±2.5 V or 0 to + 5V. The output voltage range from DACs is ±5V. The program package DAD3D written in C language is destined to on-line data acquisition, real time processing and control of experimental physical installations by the IBM PC. Realized on the principle of multichannel analyzer, the program package DAD3D offers a wide set of different functions and facilities: a friendly-user interface, a set of windows, alternative use of keyboard or mouse, one- or/and two-dimensional histograms, dynamic display of data acquisition process. The systems have been used successfully in the experiment on the Nuclotron internal target (JINR, Dubna) and in the control system of superconductivity materials. (author)
