Photoelectric properties of evaporated Be films

Description
The energy distribution of photoelectrons from Be have been measured. A semiquantitative agreement with calculated curves based on direct transitions is obtained. The work function was determined to 4.98 eV. The effect of some gases on the experimental spectra is discussed.
