Description

This paper reviews our recent work on characterising the structural and electronic transitions in La2-xBaxCuO4. This is a high-temperature superconductor which shows interesting an interesting interrelationship between structure and atomic properties. We have used x-ray and neutron diffraction to characterize the structure and show tat the current understanding of the structural phase transitions, and their relationship to the superconductivity, is incomplete
