Description

Advantages in application of heavy water (D2O) to BNCT are to increase the penetration of thermal neutrons and enhance radiation produced by the 10B(n,α)7Li reaction at depth in tissue. Furthermore, D2O decreases the capture γ-ray dose due to the 1H(n,γ)2H reaction. In this paper, substitution of H2O with D2O and the physiological effects of oral and intraperitoneal administration of D2O and the physiological effects or oral and intraperitoneal administration of D2O were studied in rats
