Description

One carried out systematic measurements of EPR spectra with g ≅ 4.2 in YBa2Cu3O6+y compounds under y various doping indices. Temperature dependences of spectra intensity show that the ground states of the centres are singlet while Ms = ± 1 excited state energy values correspond to 8-11 K. In the general case the intensity of EPR spectra varies in time and depends on the production process of specimens. Chain fragments of variable valence copper ions are considered to be the most probable models of the studied paramagnetic centres. Paper describes the generalities of the energy structure of such centres
