Description
The preparation of monodisperse polymer latices by means of the radiation-induced emulsion polymerization of styrene below C.M.C. (critical micelle concentration) of emulsifier have been studied. It has been found that polymerization condition (monomer concentration, dose rate, emulsifier concentration, temperature) influences the polymer latex size. The diameter of polymer latex particles is within the range of 600 x 10-10 m ∼ 400 x 10-10 m . The diameter of polymer latex particles can be controlled by polymerization condition. A relationship between the diameter of polymer latex particles and polymerization condition is obtained
