X-ray diffraction study of lutetium iodide

Description
Crystal lutetium iodide was prepared via metal lutetium iodination by iodine vapours. The substance was studied by powder X-ray diffractometry. Diffraction data and crystal characteristics of LiI3 (hexagonal crystal system, structural type α-LaF3): a=19.58 ±0.07 A, c=20.77 ±0.05 A, ρcaldd=5.62 ±0.04 g/cm3, Z=42, ρmeasured=5.30±0.25 g/cm3, were determined
