Description

A brief introduction to the important interdisciplinary field of nuclear astrophysics is given. With a number of results recognized by the Nobel Prize in Physics as a guide, the progress and challenges are described mainly for the big bang cosmology, solar neutrinos, stellar evolution and its end points, as well as nuclear physics and the origin of the elements.
